Loving Life at Southwind Farm

Not a whole lot to update about this week, except for the fact that we are thrilled with our new boarders, and everyone (including the horses), seems to be loving life at Southwind Farm these days. The weather is finally settling and we are experiencing pleasant springtime temperatures. I hope this stays for a little while before the heat kicks back in!

We LOVE New Boarders!!

Southwind Farm is excited to welcome new boarders Holly Erdley and Moosetracks, and Izzy Heemskerk with her first pony...EVER...of her own, Nickels and Dimes!! We can't wait to have you as part of the Southwind family!! :)

Congrats to Sheri's Daughter Addie, on a job well done!

This past weekend, Addie Thornley, competed her horse Juice Box and Sheri's horse Ari at The Maryland Horse Trials. She finished in first place on Ari, with a dressage score of 26.5...wow! She also finished in 8th place with Juice Box on a dressage score of 33.0, also really great. Congrats to you Addie on a job well done! Southwind is proud of you!

Sunday Jumper Show Fun

Yesterday, Southwind owner Sheri Thornley and her daughter Addie Thornley, headed to a local jumper show for some schooling and fun. Sheri took her horse Ari, who did very well, finishing 4th in one of his classes! Addie Thornley also did very well with her horse Juice Box. Congrats to both riders!

Spring Weather May Finally Be Here in Damascus, Maryland!

Well, we don't want to hold our breath but spring weather may just be right around the corner. It is almost 60 degrees today and the weather forecast for the rest of the week is looking like 50's or higher each day with sun. Yes, sun!!!! The horses will be happy to go out and sun bathe and all of the boarders will be happy for some warm(er) riding weather...finally!
